Second Response Intervention Teams Course

Second Response Intervention Teams Course

Second Response Intervention Teams Course

The Second Response Intervention Team members must dispose of a training in order to identify specific risks or hazards that are inherent to the activity, building, plant or considered infrastructure, as well as to identify & be acquainted with the use of specific means of protection against these risks, and to know how to procede in case of an emergency by supporting the First Responders Team. The responsibility to train the Second Response Intervention Teams lies under the figure of the manager of the activity, infrastructure or building. It will provide advanced technical knowledge to employees, so they can efficiently & safely fight a fire and minimise risks against human and economic elements.

The student will be taught about Fire Theory, Fire Fighting Types of Equipment, Total Flooding Systems, Individual Protection Devices & Autonomous Breathing Devices, diferent types of foams, Defensive Ventilation & Fire Extintion Methods according with the fuel that originated the fire, as well as means of responding to emergency plans.

All drills and exercises will take place at a Fire Field, in which every student will be able to put out real live fires originated from solid, liquid or gaseous fuels, attacking fire outbreaks in closed-in spaces and outdoors situations using a specially equipped fire hydrant, fire extinguishers & portable fire-hoses. The student will be taught consolidation of time-trial fire fighting between simultaneous brigades through symmetrical structures. The techniques to evacuate a smoke simulated enclosure will be instructed to all participants. We will witness the neutral plan phenomena set inside an adapted module. We will also show means to put out a fire outbreak without using any fire fighting equipment. A demonstration of flooding the affected confined area with flooding and high density foam will be performed. At last, we will endure a real live fire extinction & contention through the use of low/high density expansion foams.

The equipment and modules used in drill exercises will be the following:

  • Individual Protection Equipment
  • Portable Fire Extinguishers (PQS, CO2, Hydric & Foam)
  • Equipped Fire Hydrants.
  • Portable fire-hoses.
  • Low/Medium & High Density Expansion Foam launcher
  • Autonomous Breathing Equipment.
  • Seagoing Container boxes.
  • Trays & fuel drums.
  • Gas-arrow module.
  • Electrical Pannel module.
  • Office module.
  • High Density Expansion Foam & Sprinklers module.
  • Smoke simulated evacuation module.
  • Neutral Plan Module.

It’s a remarkable feature that our Fire Field sets up various scenarios in which we can reproduce all types of real fire situations that can occur in any given enclosure or space, such as: offices, laboratories, vessels, industrial platforms, etc; which can be adapted in order to fulfil the needs of each customer

At ProNautic we have pioneered the design of a Fire Field in which water is recirculated and therefore, all water used is not completely wasted. We wish to put an emphasis in the fact that all modules have been thought to be completely safe for our students and personnel. Last but not least, the technical training is guaranteed by our professional instructors‘ backgrounds, that range from Fire-Fighters, to Engineers, Masters & Merchant Navy Officers, Doctors & Nurses).

Complete course: 8 hours. Intensive Course: 6 hours.
