Fire Fighting Courses
Improve your company’s security, train your employees with our fire fighting courses.
Visit our practical drill fire fighting field to learn about our specialized industrial fire fighting modules.
Self-contained Breathing Apparatus
The Self-contained breathing apparatus course consists in training employees so that they will have the correct knowledge on these autonomous systems’ fundamentals, it’s different parts, their use’s advantages and cons, it’s basic functioning and how to use them in the most efficient and safe way during an eventual emergency originated at the workplace. Theory and practice will be performed at our Fire Field. Each student will dispose of a personal autonomous self-contained breathing apparatus, so he will be able to extinguish real solid, liquid & fuel originated fires, by fighting fire-outbreaks in confined spaces as well as outdoors, using an equipped fire-hydrant, fire-extinguishers & portable fire-hoses.
Orientation techniques will be consolidated in order to be able to evacuate a smoke simulated environment. We will instruct on how to properly wear the autonomous breathing device & other protective equipment. All regulations that affect these equipment and their mandatory use in specific industries will be taught to the students.
The equipment and modules used in drill exercises will be the following:
- Individual Protection Equipment
- Portable Fire Extinguishers (PQS, CO2, Hydric & Foam)
- Equipped Fire Hydrants.
- Portable fire-hoses.
- Self-contained Breathing Apparatus.
- Seagoing Containers.
- Industrial Machinery module.
- Electrical Pannel module.
- Office module.
- Smoke simulated evacuation module.
It’s a remarkable feature that our Fire Field sets up various scenarios in which we can reproduce all types of real fire situations that can occur in any given enclosure or space, such as: offices, laboratories, vessels, industrial platforms, etc; which can be adapted in order to fulfil the needs of each customer.
At ProNautic we have pioneered the design of a Fire Field in which water is recirculated and therefore, all water used is not completely wasted. We wish to put an emphasis in the fact that all modules have been thought to be completely safe for our students and personnel. Last but not least, the technical training is guaranteed by our professional instructors‘ backgrounds, that range from Fire-Fighters, to Engineers, Masters & Merchant Navy Officers, Doctors & Nurses).
...Chemical Hazards Course
The Chemical Hazards Course is aimed for all employees whose main tasks are to handle chemical products & by-products. This training focuses in identifying standard risks or hazards which are inherent to the activity, building, facility or considered infrastructure, as well as identifying and using the correct means of protection against these risks & proceedings to follow in the event of an emergency.
It will provide the employee with the right technical knowledge to act against a leakage & to fight a fire in an efficient and safe way, as well as to be able to eliminate or minimise all material & human damages. This training will be focusing in the different chemical products that the employee is handling on a daily basis at the company that has requested this training. Our specialists that range between proficiency in chemistry, safety and fire-fighting, will provide technical cards for each product studied, to take a deep look into their composition, the basis of the product’s possible hazards prevention, fire-fighting chemical originated fire outbreaks & providing first-aid for chemical wounds. All exercise drills will be performed by the trainee at a Fire Field, in which he will be able to put out a real chemical originated fire inside a specified chemical hazards module. This module disposes of a chemical pipe system tower, that will illustrate the best means to control leakage. The Fire Field is also equipped with an arrow structured system to reproduce a real live scale propane gas fire outbreak. All trainees will also be shown how to fight against fire-outbreaks & large scale fires in confined spaces, as well as outdooors, by means of using an equipped fire-hydrant, fire-extinguishers & portable fire-hoses. The techniques to evacuate a smoke simulated environment will be consolidated by each student. We will instruct on how to properly wear the autonomous breathing device & other protective equipment. We will also show means to put out a fire outbreak without using any fire fighting equipment.
The equipment and modules used in drill exercises will be the following:
- Individual Protection Equipment
- Portable Fire Extinguishers (PQS, CO2, Hydric & Foam)

Complete course: 8 hours.
Intensive course: 6 hours.
...Portable Fire Extinguishers (2h Course)
This 4 hours Portable Fire Extinguishers Course is aimed to provide the employee with advanced notions on the proper use of portable fire extinguishers (PQS, CO2, Hydric & Foam), in the event of a fire outbreak. An extensive analysis of the various types of fire extinguishers, transport methods, correct handling and activation of the equipment, will be shown to the students. We will evaluate all colateral damage that can occur by improper handling of the fire extinguishers, and which is the adequate type to be used for each type of fire. These drills will be performed at a Fire Field, using 2 different modules to extinguish a real live fire by suffocation and inhibition.

Second Response Intervention Teams Course
The Second Response Intervention Team members must dispose of a training in order to identify specific risks or hazards that are inherent to the activity, building, plant or considered infrastructure, as well as to identify & be acquainted with the use of specific means of protection against these risks, and to know how to procede in case of an emergency by supporting the First Responders Team. The responsibility to train the Second Response Intervention Teams lies under the figure of the manager of the activity, infrastructure or building. It will provide advanced technical knowledge to employees, so they can efficiently & safely fight a fire and minimise risks against human and economic elements.
The student will be taught about Fire Theory, Fire Fighting Types of Equipment, Total Flooding Systems, Individual Protection Devices & Autonomous Breathing Devices, diferent types of foams, Defensive Ventilation & Fire Extintion Methods according with the fuel that originated the fire, as well as means of responding to emergency plans.
All drills and exercises will take place at a Fire Field, in which every student will be able to put out real live fires originated from solid, liquid or gaseous fuels, attacking fire outbreaks in closed-in spaces and outdoors situations using a specially equipped fire hydrant, fire extinguishers & portable fire-hoses. The student will be taught consolidation of time-trial fire fighting between simultaneous brigades through symmetrical structures. The techniques to evacuate a smoke simulated enclosure will be instructed to all participants. We will witness the neutral plan phenomena set inside an adapted module. We will also show means to put out a fire outbreak without using any fire fighting equipment. A demonstration of flooding the affected confined area with flooding and high density foam will be performed. At last, we will endure a real live fire extinction & contention through the use of low/high density expansion foams.
The equipment and modules used in drill exercises will be the following:
- Individual Protection Equipment
- Portable Fire Extinguishers (PQS, CO2, Hydric & Foam)
