This ARPA Course aims to provide the student with the right knowledge to choose the proper presentation of the Radar, adjust it’s control variables, in order to obtain the best system performance, and to set the right operational alarms.  This course will also instruct on how to extract the necessary information regarding heading, speed over ground and minimal distance with the echo, and the time when the closest point of approach will happen, so that the user can take immediate and effective action. The course is set to conform to all rules of the COLREG International Regulations, to be able to avoid an excessive approach with another vessel.

Maritime Specialty Course as approved by the DGMM (Dirección General de la Marina Mercante) and endorsed by the IMO (International Maritime Organisation).
