The Ship Security Officer Course aims to provide the student with the right knowledge to perform the duties of the person responsible on board before the Master and designated by the company to respond over the ship security, as well as the responsibility to implement and maintain the ship safety & security plan, & in addition to coordinate with the company’s security officer the operations, in joint effort with the Port Security Officials.
Maritime Specialty Course as approved by the DGMM (Dirección General de la Marina Mercante) and endorsed by the IMO (International Maritime Organisation).

This programme fits into the official norm of the Orden FOM/2296/2002 of the Spanish Law, in compliance with the Code of Training of the STCW-78 Convention. It's content appears in Rule VI/5 of the STCW-78 amended Convention, Section A-VI/5, Chart A-VI/5 of the Training Code.
